Great Idea to Share : 100th Anniversary of Clinton Football- Alumni Engagement

The Clinton Public School Foundation partnered with Clinton High School and the Football Boosters to commemorate and celebrate 100 years of Clinton football on September 6th and 7th. Event invitations were sent to over 450 people, with flyers, a banner, and a major social media campaign helping spread the word. The Clinton Public School Foundation received a $2,000 grant from the City of Clinton's Tourism Fund to help cover advertising costs.

The weekend-long event was a huge success! The foundation was responsible for hosting the "Continue the Tradition" after party, a ticketed event featuring wine, beer, and appetizers. A minimum donation of $25 secured an event ticket (tickets were not sold at the door), with many choosing to give larger donations. More than 300 guests purchased tickets to attend the event, which featured classic Clinton uniforms and memorabilia as well as a highlight film produced by Clinton High School students.

The event connected a number of new donors to the Clinton Public School Foundation, allowing the opportunity to engage these donors again in the future. Executive Director Erin Adams said, "we managed to take a sporting event and raise money that will be used for teacher grants while providing an event that connected our foundation to potential alumni donors. It is important to look at the passion and interest in your community and find a way to fundraise around it." The event received great feedback from the community, and the foundation is considering hosting a similar event in conjunction with the All-School Reunion held every five years to continue forming important alumni connections.

Is Your Foundation a PLUS Member?
The board president or executive director of your school foundation should have received a letter in early September offering the opportunity to become a member of the National School Foundation Association through a PLUS membership with our Oklahoma School Foundations Network.

While ALL public school foundations in Oklahoma have access to the free consulting and resources provided by the Oklahoma School Foundations Network, PLUS members will have the added benefit of membership in the National School Foundation Association. PLUS membership, based on your foundation size, is just half of what it would cost your organization to join NSFA separately. NSFA offers its members a large array of benefits , including discounted services and products as well as a large resource library and free webinars. Take a look at the membership application for more information, and contact Katy Leffel with any questions you might have.

We would like to welcome the following foundations as 2019-20 PLUS members:
