October Lunch
Orders due Tuesday 10/1

The lunch program is off to a great start but we need to mention a few things.

  • Deadlines: Please make note of these deadlines. We will no longer be taking late orders.

  • Payment: Payment must be attached to the order.

  • Missed lunches: The school is billed based on the number of lunches ordered by the deadline. Credit will only be given on the days the school is forced to close.

Progress Report Conferences
October 17-18, 2019



We invite you to attend Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 17, and Friday , October 18, 2019 . Our school schedule has been modified to make it convenient for parents who prefer either the afternoon time or the evening to meet with the teacher/s. Thursday, the 17 th will be a 1/2-day dismissal ; therefore, students will be dismissed at 11:30 am.  Aftercare will be available until 6:00 pm Children staying for aftercare should bring their lunch. 

NO HOT LUNCH WILL BE SERVED Thursday, October 17 th .
 
THERE WILL NOT BE SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18 th .
 
Middle school students have seven content area teachers they meet with regularly. Middle School Conferences will be team conferences, and parent(s) will meet with four teachers during the conference. All JPII parents will have up to 15 minutes to meet with the teacher(s). If you need additional time, arrangements will be made for a follow up meeting with the teacher at another time. 


Please be on time to your meeting as the teachers are following a set schedule.

Attached is a Parent Request for Conference. Please return the form to the office on, or before, September 30 th .


Good Luck to our Cross-Country (XC) team: First race on September 26th!

Our XC team has been practicing twice a week as a team since the start of school. Now they are ready for their first meet. Good Luck to all our runners as they run their first race Thursday, September 26 as Camp Sloper in Southington.

Race time is at 5pm and we would love to see the school community out their supporting their efforts!

Parent-Student Handbook
2019-2020
School starts at 7:40 am if students arrive after that they must check-in at the office before heading to class.

Attached you will find the 2019-2020 handbook. This is the same one that was sent home and the beginning of the school year. Please read it carefully and sign the last page to acknowledge you have read the handbook. Many of you have returned the form and we thank you.

Middle School Families
Paper Forms Due 9/27

Computer Insurance information went home via backpack mail. While optional, we strongly encourage you to purchase insurance for your child’s device.  The online portal to sign up is open through 9/30 . You can also enroll by filling out the form and sending it back to school with your payment by  9/27 .

ERATE:
Forms are due October 4, 2019

These forms recently went home with the youngest child of the family. Please see the attached forms for more information. The more forms returned to the school equals a better chance for funding. If you have not had a chance to fill out the form and turn it in to the office, please take a moment to do so. Thank you!

Plans are in progress and the auction committee meets regularly to ensure that this year's auction provides the necessary funds to complete our playground project. If you are interested in being part of the committee please reach out to our HSA Presidents .

From the nurse's desk

Parents of Preschoolers.

All preschool students are required by the State of Connecticut to have the flu shot. The shot can be administered anywhere from August 31st until the end of December. Please submit proof of immunization if you have not done so already.

Lost and Found

The lost and found box is beginning to fill up. Any items not claimed within a week will be donated. Please label everything as cooler weather is on the horizon. These items are in search of their owners. Do they belong to your child?

Hobby Quest After-school Programs
Mondays and Wednesdays
October 7- December 9

Once again, Hobby Quest brings exciting programs to our school. This Fall Hobby Quest offers Magic Mysteries and Airplane Missions to students in grades K-5. Please see the attached flyer for registration and more information.


New Program starting!
After-school Soccer/Futsal
Starting Wednesday, 9/25

See the attached flyer and registration. Coach Lou has recommended this program which is designed to increase a player's foot skills . This program will be held on Wednesdays after band practice. Please complete the attached registration form and send the form and the $120 fee to the office at soon as possible. Parents will pick up students from the front of the school.
