Key Messages:

  • Beaufort County is currently under mandatory hurricane evacuation order

  • It is NOT advised to stay behind in Sea Pines, however if you plan to stay behind you are asked to contact Sea Pines via email at dispatch@seapinessecurity.com, please include the names of all in your party, address and contact phone number.

  • The Hilton Head Hospital is now closed. Coastal Carolina Hospital (1000 Medical Center Dr. Hardeeville, SC) and Beaufort Memorial Hospital (955 Ribaut Rd. Beaufort, SC) will remain open for emergencies only.
The National Hurricane Center latest  advisory  indicates that Hurricane Dorian has maximum sustained winds of 105 miles per hour and was moving NNW at 8 mph.

NEW:
• Hilton Head Island is currently under a Hurricane warning and a storm surge warning. 
• SC Forestry Commission has issued statewide burning ban beginning this morning September 4th at 7:00 a.m. for all counties in South Carolina.
• Please call Palmetto Breeze at 843-757-5782 for assistance to an evacuation shelter.
• The Hilton Head Island Airport will be closing today September 4th at 12:00 p.m.
• The Beaufort County Sheriff will be holding a press conference at 11:00 a.m. this morning.
• The Town of Hilton Head Island is prepared to execute its recovery plan for debris removal to restore access to critical facilities and assure emergency response capabilities.

UPDATED:
• The mandatory evacuation is still in effect at this time.
• Emergency services response will continue to operate as long as it’s safe to do so.
• The Cross Island toll fees will be lifted during the evacuation.
• Traffic is moving freely across all Beaufort County Roads.
• The Hilton Head Island bridges will not close unless Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office determine that the winds will make traveling across the bridges dangerous.
• All Town of Hilton Head Island Government buildings, including all Fire Stations have been secured with hurricane protection.
• Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office personnel are actively patrolling all areas and state that criminal activity will not be tolerated.
• The closest evacuation shelter available for Beaufort County residents is Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School (250 Jaguar Trail, Ridgeland SC) is now open. This is a pet-friendly shelter, if you bring your pet, you are required to bring a crate, a leash, and pet food. Other evacuation shelter locations will be available on  scemd.org  and in the SC Emergency Manager mobile app.
• Those who require a special medical needs shelter are asked to contact the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) hotline at 855-472-3432 for assistance.
• To report price gouging go to pricegouging@scag.gov or call 803-737-3953. Include the following information: time, place, address, and name of the gas station; price you paid, prices nearby and the same information on those stations; pictures that identify the station and price; your name and contact information.
• Georgia DOT has closed the Talmadge Memorial Bridge on US 17 in Savannah-Chatham County, at this time, it’s unknown when the bridge will re-open.
• All Town of Hilton Head Island government offices, facilities, and all Town Parks, Beaufort County government offices and schools are now closed and will re-open on a date to be determined. All Town Council and committee meetings are also cancelled until further notice.
• The Hilton Head Hospital is now closed. Coastal Carolina Hospital (1000 Medical Center Dr. Hardeeville, SC) and Beaufort Memorial Hospital (955 Ribaut Rd. Beaufort, SC) will remain open for emergencies only. Please note hospitals are not public shelters and will not have the resources to operate as such during an emergency.


Previously Communicated Information From CSA:

Below are updates related to Sea Pines CSA services and operations: 
  • As a reminder, typically with high winds the Sheriff/ SC DOT will close the bridges onto the Island, so please plan according before the winds arrive in our area.
 
  • The following CSA offices are closed and will remain closed until further notice due to the evacuation: Sea Pines CSA Administration office, Sea Pines ARB office, Sea Pines CSA Welcome Center Pass Office, Sea Pines Community Center.

  • Sea Pines gate pass sales stopped as of 11:00 PM on 9/1/17. 

  • Sea Pines Security is no longer manning the entrance gates of Sea Pines, however security will be patrolling the community until such time that our advance team must evacuate to our mobile command center located in Bluffton, SC (Emergency & medical personal will still be able to access the community at all times.)

  • All CSA events and meetings scheduled for this week are cancelled.

  • We have lowered our lagoons in anticipation of possible significant rainfall amounts.
 
How to contact Sea Pines Security
  • The Sea Pines Security Dispatch line (843-671-7170) is still taking calls at this time. We will update you when the dispatch line will no longer be in service due to the evacuation. When this occurs the dispatch line phone number will be forwarded to the CSA Hurricane Hotline (1-866-671-EVAC), a recorded message update will be played. 
  • For those attempting to contact Sea Pines Security Dispatch after our staff has evacuated, you should instead contact the Beaufort County Emergency Management by calling 911, to report an emergency. (Note- emergency services, including the Sea Pines Security Department and Beaufort County will NOT respond to emergency calls once the evacuation is completed.)
