Ongoing Clinical Trials

Dogs with Chronic GI Signs
The Small Animal Internal Medicine Service is recruiting patients with chronic vomiting, diarrhea, poor appetite and weight loss to investigate whether or not dogs need to be fasted for a commonly recommended test (gastrointestinal panel) in dogs with these symptoms.

Any adult medium-to-large breed dog affected by the above-noted symptoms is eligible. All dogs must be willing to eat a normal meal in the hospital setting, be current patients of UW Veterinary Care, and be first evaluated by a veterinarian.

Routine blood sampling will occur throughout the day. Results will be given to the patient's primary veterinarian, who will relay the results to the owner.
