What You Should Know About Health Care Directives Join Us October 19
Did you know that Minnesota law allows you to inform others of your health care wishes? You have the right to state your wishes in writing so that others will know what you want even if you can't tell them.

Both elders and volunteers will find this presentation very helpful and informative. Gordon Solo, Supervising Attorney at the Senior Law Project, will share information and answer your questions during this causal time together. Attend with your Elder Friend or come on your own. Be sure and stay for lunch after the presentation!

Time to Volunteer for the Holidays!
Home for the Holidays is just around the corner!
And, because you are a wonderful LBFE friend and supporter, we are extending an "Early Bird" invitation to you to register early for the holiday volunteer opportunity that fits you best! Beginning October 4 , before the general public, you will be able to register on the LBFE website to bring joy and connection into elders’ lives during a season when loneliness is most deeply felt.

Opportunities include:
  • Sharing warm conversation and holiday cheer during home visits with elders, along with providing a red carnation, a small gift, and a pumpkin pie to share with others at Thanksgiving, or festive holiday cookies at Christmas.
  • Pie and cookie bakers.
  • Drop-off and pick-up assistance.
  • Drivers and companions for our elder luncheon on Dec 17.

Watch your email for the Oct 4 registration kick-off. In the meantime, if you have questions please email   Ann Fosco or call 612-746-0725.
