Day One of the 2019 Azerbaijan Open was held in association with The GEC Open. Staged in over 40 countries, this worldwide corporate challenge is played as an individual Stableford format with the leading score from each handicap category flying to Dubai in March 2020 for the all expensed world final. With fantastic conditions for play, the day favoured some good performances on course. Well done to our division one (Hcp 0-16.6) winner Alan Ferguson with 43pts and division two (Hcp 16.7 – 28) winner Gary Green who had a sensational round of 47pts. On course side contests for day one were won by Susan Drummond who claimed both the Nearest the Pin at the 13th Hole and Longest Drive at the 4th Hole. Good luck to Alan and Gary at the World Final in 2020!
