Wanted: 2019 Family Expo Volunteers *
The Family Expo is looking for volunteers to lend a hand! Taking place on Saturday, September 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition Center, the
FREE event attracts hundreds of child and family services exhibitors sharing vital information with approximately 15,000 visitors. The day is also marked by a slew of fun activities for kids, including interactive games, a robotics room, live musical performances, face painters, and arts and crafts, to name just a few.
As a volunteer, you'll have a great time at the event; receive complimentary lunch, refreshments and snacks, and tee shirt; and log in community service hours (if needed).

2020 Census Right Around the Corner; Grants Available
Miami-Dade Counts 2020 is interested in funding efforts in Miami-Dade County to encourage full participation in the 2020 Census. The grants will range from $5,000 to $25,000 and will be awarded to nonprofit and governmental organizations with thoughtful, culturally sensitive, and innovative strategies for reaching communities that have historically low rates of participation in the census.

FREE opportunity is for your Trust Central Agency Admin to include staff information in Trust Central. The deadline to do this is July 31, so act now to have your staff information entered into Trust Central. All staff whose position is partially or fully funded through a Trust contract and required to take training must be included in Trust Central.

Advocacy Network on Disabilities: Online Trainings
- Discovering Inclusion For new staff, and/or those with little or no previous knowledge about youth with disabilities. This workshop introduces various types of disabilities, identifies the characteristics and benefits of an inclusive program, and provides information on using People First Language and respectful etiquette.
- Introduction to Successful Inclusion of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) - Part 1 What is Autism Spectrum Disorder? Learn how to help children meet behavioral expectations, recognize and accommodate those with sensory sensitivities, foster social competence, address bullying, and ensure a safe environment.

Florida Foster Care Review is seeking a review specialist who prepares and oversees Citizen Review Panel (CRP) hearings, captures review data and produces the CRP’s report for the court. Bachelor's degree in Social Work/Human Services/Public Administration or related field, plus 2-4 years of experience preferably in a related non-profit environment, as well as case management experience.
Head Start Teacher Assistant *
The position will be responsible for assisting Head Start classroom teachers in the care and development of children enrolled in an early childhood education center as well as maintenance of the classroom. FCCPC or CDA Pre-School, DCF 45 hrs, High School Diploma/GED required, childcare experience; Head Start school year only. Must have experience with contracts/agreements and requires level 2 background clearance, and must pass a drug test.
After School Counselors (Part Time) *
The part-time positions report to the Site Manager, carry the major responsibility of teaching and nurturing children as well as the general maintenance of the group area in an after school setting. Responsible for the physical care and nurturing of all children; Promotes the positive self-image of the children by listening, responding encouraging independence, while giving verbal and non-verbal positive reinforcement; Guides children toward their own behavior by using constructive approaches.

The Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) is looking for an individual
to foster a culture of philanthropy within the organization; assure that the corporate culture, systems and procedures support fund development and vice versa; lead staff and volunteers to institutionalize philanthropy and fund development within; be responsible for providing leadership/planning/organizing/directing all of the agency’s development and fundraising efforts including, but not limited to, corporate, government, major donor cultivation, annual fund, planned giving, special events and capital campaigns.
Early Head Start Teacher Associates (Miami and Miami Gardens)
The YWCA is seeking individuals to be responsible for planning/implementing daily learning activities, nurturing children and managing and maintaining the Early Head Start classroom and its equipment and supplies. Other duties include establishing and maintaining supportive relationships with infants, toddlers, and parents, and implementing developmentally appropriate routines and curriculum for infants/toddlers. Must possess FCCPC or CDA Infant/toddler, or staff credential, DCF 45 hours, CPR and first aid, Level 2 clearance and pass a drug test.
Staff Accountant
The staff accountant will be responsible for daily performance of technical and administrative accounting work; maintaining organization’s fiscal records/systems; performs monthly closing of G/L; reconciles G/L accounts to grant related reimbursement packages/schedules, standard journal entries and reconciles related variances through financial statements; assists program staff in preparing preliminary budgets/amendments. Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, 2-4 years experience, non-profit a plus. A level 2 background check will be performed.
Head Start Education / Curriculum Specialist
The YWCA is looking for an individual to be responsible for the education component for Head Start Performance Standards; providing training for all Head Start teaching personnel, developing program curricula and providing educational resources for staff & parents; establishing/maintaining a communication & complete reporting system for monitoring, evaluating and improving the education components of the Head Start Program. A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, or a closely related field with 18 credits in Early Childhood Education.
Family Support Workers for Head Start Program
Individuals will be responsible for family services for Head Start families of center-based children in accordance with Head Start performance standards/guidelines; Also for recruitment enrollment and income eligible families, as well as implementation of family quality support services, parent education and program governance as per Head Start performance standards. A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Family Services, Human Services, Counseling, Psychology, or closely related field and case management experience is a plus.
