Alexandria Tisdale

Alexandria Tisdale grew up in South Hill, Virginia and graduated from Park View High School.  She earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences in General Studies from Southside Virginia Community College.  After graduating from SVCC, Alexandria transferred to Virginia Commonwealth University, where she completed a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice.

While a student at VCU, Alexandria interned with the Richmond City Victim Witness Program and the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice: 14th District Court Service Unit, in Henrico, Virginia.  She was subsequently hired by the department's 16th District Court Service Unit as a Parole/Probation Officer.

Alexandria plans to continue her education to earn a master's degree in Social Work and continue working with juveniles in Juvenile Justice Correctional Facilities.  She admits the job is challenging, yet very rewarding.

"I enjoyed my time at SVCC and they really helped to prepare me for my college experience.  The advice I would give to upcoming graduates and those working toward graduation is to never give up. Use all of the resources that are made available to you, and stay true to yourself. Also, if you continue your education invest your time in internships. Not only will they help you become skilled in the duties of occupation you are interested in, but they will also open doors for you to land that dream job you always wanted."
