Celebrating 60 Years!

Please join us this Fall to celebrate our 60th Anniversary! We'll be welcoming performers at all 14 locations followed by an open house!

Our line up of performers  will include:

Corpse Reviver:
This group is a trio of Minnesota musicians, Mikkel Beckmen, Jillian  Rae, and Adam Kiesling, that pays homage to Harry Smith's Anthology of American Folk Music. Corpse Reviver takes its name from a cocktail from New Orleans. They are influenced by early blues and jug bands to old-time country and Cajun tunes. This program is coming to the Aitkin Public Library.

Belle Amour:
Belle Amour is a fun, high energy jazz group that performs a mix of classic American '20s and '30s jazz standards with a touch of international flair. They have the ability to transport the listener to a vintage era that will leave you feeling nostalgic. The band is anchored by the very talented husband and wife duo of Jason and Katie Craft. This program is coming to the Princeton Area Library

Becky Schlegel:
Her music is original, drawing on the influence of classic country, bluegrass, folk, and her own thoughtful spirit. Becky's incredible voice floats, whispers, then soars above music of the highest quality. She takes her listeners on a musical journey, exploring new places and meeting new people in every song. This program is coming to the Pine City Public Library & Chisago Lakes Area Library

Holy Rocka Rollaz:
Take an authentic trip Back to the '50s! If you love the rock 'n' roll music of Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash & Patsy Cline (and many more!) then you'll love this band. This high-energy Minneapolis trio has been bringing their exciting show to thousands of car show fans, prestigious venues and family-friendly city events for several years. This program is coming to the North Branch Area Library.

Boyd Huppert:
Huppert  got his start in broadcasting as a 16-year-old announcer at his hometown radio station, WEVR in River Falls, Wisconsin. He majored in Journalism and Political Science at UW-River Falls and began his television career in 1984 at WSAW-TV in Wausau. Boyd worked at two more TV stations before joining KARE 11 in 1996. Boyd produces and hosts KARE 11's weekly "Land of 10,000 Stories" segment. His writing and reporting have been recognized with 16 National Edward R. Murrow Awards. Boyd is also the recipient of a national Emmy for feature reporting and more than 100 regional Emmys. This program is coming to the Cambridge Public Library

Mike Munson:
His blues influences include Fred McDowell, Jack Owens, and Jesse Mae Hemphill - who all hailed from areas of rural Mississippi. (His upcoming album, "Rose Hill," was recorded in Bentonia, MS, at the Blue Front Cafe, the oldest juke joint in Mississippi, owned by Jimmy "Duck" Holmes.) From sad and somber slow tunes to swampy, caterwauling stompers, his music is a master class in creative blues composition and performance, lyrically compelling, full of unique turns and twists, yet never losing sight of his art form and the music's roots. This program is coming to the Milaca Community Library.

Briand Morrison:
A man who's celebrated by many as the North Shore's finest jazz guitar player. Raised by two artists in the 1960s surrounded by art, culture and various genres of music, Morrison went on quite a journey in his education and career in software development. But a day never went by without him picking up his guitar. He now plays music on a full-time basis, and he is loved for his clear sound, dedication and unique style. This program is coming to the Mille Lacs Lake Community Library (Isle), and Sandstone Public Library.

Dancing Light:
Musicians Greg and Kiki Carter Webb perform a musical blend that has been called cosmic acoustic. Greg's unique approach to acoustic guitar supports a mesmerizing vocal blend, occasionally peppered with Kiki's percussion. Kiki is a classically trained musician influenced by the world of folk, rock, and musical theater. Their lyrics offer a vision of unity, environmental compassion, and spiritual connection. Above all, Dancing Light's songs are a call for love. This program is coming to the Mora Public Library, Hinckley Public Library, Wyoming Area Giese Memorial Library, Rush City Public Library & McGregor Public Library

One day, Lori Gottlieb is a therapist who helps patients in her Los Angeles practice. The next, a crisis causes her world to come crashing down. Enter Wendell, the quirky but seasoned therapist in whose office she suddenly lands. With his balding head, cardigan, and khakis, he seems to have come straight from Therapist Central Casting. Yet he will turn out to be anything but.

With startling wisdom and humor, Gottlieb invites us into her world as both clinician and patient, examining the truths and fictions we tell ourselves and others as we teeter on the tightrope between love and desire, meaning and mortality, guilt and redemption, terror and courage, hope and change.
