Ben Levin & the Heaters To Set BCM Ablaze
Thursday, July 18, 7 p.m.
For Ben and Aron Levin, blues music is a family affair.

Son Ben, a 19-year-old pianist and vocalist, and father Aron, guitarist and founder of the band The Heaters, will fire up the Music@BCM crowd on July 19.

Ben started playing piano at age 4, and took lessons for years from world-renowned boogie/blues player Ricky Nye. At 11, he turned professional, sitting in with The Heaters, and now plays 100+ gigs a year while attending the University of Cincinnati.

He has made a name for himself performing at the Cincinnati Blues Festival, Chicago Blues Fest, Ricky Nye’s Blues & Boogie Piano Summit, Chase Garret's annual Piano Stomp and the annual Festival de Boogie Woogie in LaRoquebrou, France, among other many other venues. A composer as well as a performer, he has produced two albums, “Ben's Blues” and “Before Me.”

Blues Blast Magazine refers to Ben Levin as “an old soul,” saying “it is remarkable that he has managed to learn much of the essence of the Blues piano traditions at such a young age.” Aron Levin says of his son, “He was always looking up at the stars when everyone else was looking down at their Game Boys.”
