National Safe Boating Week
The Forum and public safety professionals from around the state are committed to promoting safety while encouraging you to have fun on Washington's beautiful waters.

It's no accident that the National Safe Boating Week campaign coincides with the beginning of boating and fishing seasons. "Although we're concerned about boating safety all year long," said Andy Dunau, Executive Director of the Spokane River Forum, "stats show on-the-water accidents and fatalities increase as the weather warms up, and more people get out on the water. Sadly, of the 15 boat related fatalities in Washington state last year, 11 were people not wearing a life jacket."
