July 2019

The landscape team has been busy with a wide array of projects in the first half of the year including master plan designs, permitting, shoreline restoration projects, fountain installations, terraces and walkways, irrigation systems and low voltage lighting systems. The feedback from our customers is consistently "We love working with Unity because you perform all of the services we need under one roof and this streamlines the process and we know what we are getting when we bring in team Unity".  It has always been our goal to offer the highest level of service and build long-lasting relationships with our clients so hearing this consistent feedback affirms the work we are doing. One of the most satisfying aspects of the work we do is the ongoing relationships we build with our clients as we continue to care for and maintain the projects we install. When we design and build a project, we keep in mind that all of the living aspects remain dynamic and plan in advance for a mature living system, so it is important to insure the vision is achieved as the system evolves. Always evolving and growing....just like the team at Unity.

Unity Farm is full of activity, and we are busy trying to find a balance between harvesting summer and storage crops, weeding, irrigating and caring for what is actively growing, while also trying to find time to clear finished crops and plant new crops for late summer and fall harvests. We are currently harvesting tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, okra, tomatillos, peppers and green beans and soon our watermelons should be ready. Storage crops like potatoes are being dug and stored to have available for the rest of the year, and garlic has been harvested and hung up to cure. Sweet potatoes, winter squash, turmeric and ginger are growing well and we are looking forward to their harvest come September or so. Stop by and see the constant development of our gardens.

At the Nursery be sure to stop by and take advantage of our summer sales during the month of July! We are having a half off summer blowout sale on all annuals in stock. It's not too late to arrange that centerpiece planter to accent your screen porch or deck for summertime get-togethers. Perennials, like Joe Pye, Tick Seed, and Japanese Anemone, are 25% off just in time to plant for a well-established autumn bloom. Peruse our selection of fertilizer, toners, and pest control supplies at the solution center in the newly overhauled interior of our farm stand, check out our wide selection of fountains, pottery, and statuary in and around the nursery, and while you are here, pick up some of our freshly harvested organically-grown vegetables!

We look forward to seeing you soon.
