The Ripple Effect: Exploring Inclusive Excellence

As part of orientation, on Saturday, August 24, 2019, you will participate in The Ripple Effect.
This interactive program provides an opportunity for members of the Class of 2023 to engage in dialogue around issues of inclusion in the Tulane community and throughout the city of New Orleans.

In preparation, p lease complete this form so our student  Community Engagement Advocates can get a feeling for where the Class of 2023 stands.

In the form you will find a list of topics that will be discussed with small groups of first year students and two Community Engagement Advocates who will facilitate the dialogue. Please answer both questions and you will receive confirmation of the room and building where each dialogue you selected will take place via email.

Q: Where is home for you originally?
A: Garland, Texas
Q: Where did you attend college?
A: For undergrad, I attended The Ohio State University and received a B.A. in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. For graduate school, I attended New York University and received a M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs while working in the NYU LGBTQ Student Center.
Q: Fun fact?
A: In elementary school I was a proud member of the dictionary team. Did you know that the dots in dictionary words don't represent syllables - they are to show copy editors where to place a hyphen for end-of-line division!
Q: Favorite New Orleans aspect/event?
A: I love the personality and passion of the city. Last year I walked in the Chewbacchus parade with Mischief Managed and had a blast celebrating my Ravenclaw house!
Q: Favorite Tulane aspect/event?
A: My favorite part of Tulane is the community I have here. My students and colleagues are brilliant, kind, and compassionate. They are what makes Tulane such a phenomenal institution.
