Parent - Teacher Conference Week -
December 2nd -6th
(Mon - Thu conferences. No conferences on Friday.)
PLAN AHEAD: The ENTIRE WEEK, Mon - Fri, is a 12:30 pm dismissal. Students who are not registered for after-school child care must be picked up by 1:00pm.
(Note: Though these are minimum days, lessons are being taught in class just as any other full school day.)
Scheduling & Conflicts ARE DUE TOMORROW - THUR. 9/26
A lot of planning goes into scheduling 243 parent/teacher conferences over a 4 day period. A conference date & time will be assigned to parents within the next few weeks.
You have an opportunity to let us know of any conflict you may have with a particular day or time. If not, then you will be notified of your assigned day & time in late October. Once assigned, rescheduling will not be available.
- Any conflict or specific request must be into Ms. Carol no later than NEXT Thursday, Sept. 26th.
- Conferences are scheduled Monday through Thursday, in 15 minute intervals, between 1:15pm - 3:30pm.
- Families with multiple children will have their conferences scheduled back to back.
- Once your conference schedule is sent out, the office will not be able to accommodate any requests for change. You must email your teacher to request another day after conference week, which will be at the teachers discretion.

Dear Parents,
Pokémon games have been around for many years and their popularity seems to ebb and flow. At St. Rose there is currently a resurgence of interest in them. Although there is nothing wrong with the game or with collecting cards, the cards become problematic at school since they are very distracting. In addition, trading the cards can cause great upset on the part of the child and if a valuable card is lost, traded, or misplaced. For this reason, students will not be allowed to bring them to school at all. Our YMCA aftercare program is in the process of acquiring sets of cards that children can play with after school. They will be clearly marked as property of the Y and used only at the Y after school. Please help us insure that your child does not bring his or her own Pokémon cards to school.
On Friday, which is a non-student day, our teachers will be attending a diocesan religious education in-service. This year there are some very interesting topics and nationally known speakers. One of the speakers, Kendra Tierney, is also offering an evening session for parents entitled "Liturgical Living for Busy Parents". Kendra is the mother of ten children and, in addition to her blog, has also written a book for parents about kid-friendly ways to weave Catholic faith and culture into our daily family lives.
The session will take place at the Cardinal Newman High School gym on Friday, September 27
th from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. All parents are welcome to attend this complimentary session.

- Classes can earn an ice cream party for 100% participation. All money should be turned in by the walk-a-thon date on October 4th.
- Lunch will provided to students immediately following the Walk-a-Thon

HOT LUNCH PROGRAM - 1st - 8th grades
NEW INFORMATION
All 1st - 8th students participated in a hot lunch survey last week, asking them what they like and don't, and what kinds of menu options would be interested in.
Epicurean is listening, and based on those results, they will be introducing some new menu items starting in October, along with those that are most popular.
Epicurean remains committed to providing healthy lunch options, but also want to offer items that your children will enjoy.
Hot Lunch menu's for October and November are now posted for ordering.
Remember, all orders must be placed in ADVANCE.
- If ordering WEEKLY - your order must be placed no later than WEDNESDAY the week before.
- If ordering MONTHLY - your order for the next month must be placed by the LAST WEDNESDAY of each month.
- St. Rose office will no longer ADD ON students who do not order in time. If you miss the order deadline, please send your child to school with a lunch.
