For the second week in a row, this Sunday we'll hear a story which illustrates the importance of relationship with our neighbors.
Last week was the parable of the Good Samaritan, illustrating the depth and breadth of who we should consider as our neighbors. As one example (referencing the gospel), our Presiding Bishop, the Most Rev. Michael Curry, issued a video this week tying the depth of love for our neighbors to the current immigration crisis at the border.
You can find that video here.
This week, we see two sisters hosting Jesus in their home. One is distracted, while the other takes the time to be fully present with Jesus - present in relationship and love.
Where are we distracted when instead we might be fully present with God? Are there neighbors in our daily journeys with whom we are called to be in more deep an authentic relationship?
