Beyond Diptych and Triptych Painting Demonstration - part 4

Welcome back to another BobBlast!

In this final installment of painting the polyptych, my goal was to tie together and visually unify all six panels.

Using a water-soluble drawing crayon, I drew all over the six paintings in a free spirit style with black lines and scribbles. I simply enjoy the act of drawing!

Next, I added gold acrylic paint - in homage to Byzantine polyptych panels.
I like the glow of the gold and again, it unifies the individual panels to create ONE painting.

Then I wiped transparent fluid acrylics over the bottom portion of the panels - the fluids helped to dissolve the black drawing lines and scrubbed the surface. I have a habit, at this point, to scrape and scratch the wet paint, creating even more lines.

Finally, I wiped away some sections to return to the contrast I had established in the first stage.

I'm done and I'm happy! My goal was to have all six panels read as one piece of work that clearly conveys the title Equal.

Paint On!
