Volunteers Needed
Several Roles Available
Looking for a good way to give back and help those in need in your community?

  • Babysitting volunteers urgently needed: Our Family Stabilization Program (FSP) is looking for volunteers to babysit a small group of children while their parents attend vital workshops. Times needed: Wednesday, October 2nd, 16th, and 23rd 6:30-8PM. (Regular Tuesday shifts are also available starting in November.)

  • Bagel pick-up volunteers: The Pearlman Emergency Food Pantry needs a regular volunteer to pick-up bagels on Mondays before 1:30PM from Einstein's Bagels (441 S Orlando Ave, Maitland, FL 32751).

  • Holiday Meal Delivery volunteers: We are looking for more volunteers for our next holiday meal delivery before Rosh Hashanah. Volunteers will report to JFS Orlando on Thursday, September 26th at 1PM to pick-up meals and then deliver them to seniors in the Greater Orlando area. Sign-up deadline is Monday, September 23rd.

Throwback Orlando
October 19, 2019 7PM
Celebrate the past, present, and future. Everyone, whether you grew up in Orlando or not, is invited to join us for a reunion of friends hosted by JFS.

Heavy hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, great friends and memories! Dress is smart casual. Limited space available. Reservations and prepayment necessary!

Simply pick up some of the non-perishable food items listed above and drop off at JFS Orlando or participating synagogues, Jewish agencies, and community partners.

“It’s only a drop of what they need, but it helps.” Longtime volunteer Judith Hara can’t remember exactly how long she’s volunteered in the Pearlman Emergency Food Pantry—“Over five years,” she estimates—but she knows she loves doing it. “People have to eat and we’re helping in the little way we can. Have you ever wondered if genetic testing and counseling could benefit you and your family? At this special event, genetics specialists from Orlando Health UF Health Cancer Center will discuss various topics related to genetic testing and cancer.

The program will be led by Rebecca Moroose, MD, medical director of the Cancer Genetics and High Risk Center, and Ryan Bisson, CGC, certified genetic counselor.

Light hors d’oeuvres will be served. Attendance is free with registration.
