Pastor's Letter
Sermon Prep.:  Exodus 15:22-27
That cold March 11 th day in 1993 was both exciting and very troubling. You see, on that day Darla and I became parents for the first time and we were so excited to see a dream come true. But we were concerned for our baby boy whom we had named Jordan David Hulett. We were concerned because the doctor told us that he had undeveloped hip sockets. While lying on his back his legs would just flop over on each side of his torso like a frog on his back—it was not funny at the time, but I have to smile a bit now at the image!
The doctor told us that because his hip sockets were not formed he would not be able to walk unless he was put in a body cast for the first six months of his life. You can imagine the stunned look on our faces and the thoughts of putting our son through that.
We decided to lean heavily on prayer and ask God to do something radical. We called our elderly prayer warrior friend, Swann Bates to pray, and something radical actually did happen!
As Swann held little Jordan and prayed, we all three heard a “click” and his right leg jumped. We then heard another “click” and his left leg jumped! The doctor told us within two days that she was not sure what happened but his legs were just fine! God had healed him completely!!
I am excited about introducing another name of God this week. In Exodus 15 God tells us that one of His names is “Jehovah Rapha” which means “The Lord Who Heals.” Please read this story in Exodus 15:22-27 before you come to church Sunday.
We plan to invite people to the front for anointing and prayer at the end of the service. If you desire to ask Jehovah Rapha for healing please begin praying now that God would provide exactly what you need…for His glory and honor.

Peace friends,
Pastor Brent

PRAYER FOR TODAY:
God of power and justice,
like Jeremiah you weep over those
who wander from you,
turn aside to other gods,
and enter into chaos and destruction.
By your tears and through your mercy,
teach us your ways
and write them on our hearts
so that we may follow faithfully
the path you show us. Amen.
