One of our most recent success stories comes out of Pennsylvania. A disposal company with $1,600,000 in payroll found themselves facing the nearly impossible task of being able to secure a standard workers compensation carrier. The only option appeared to be with the state run workers compensation fund, (SWIF). In this case, the company was facing a cash outlay that would have required allocating nearly all of its working capital for the SWIF policy.  This forced the client to confront the very real possibility of having to shut down operations.  AccountFirst, Inc., was able to tailor a program that provided a much lower initial cash outlay, resulting in real tangible cash savings, which preserved the working capital needed to continue the day to day operations.

New York is among one the most challenging workers' compensation markets there is today. Many carriers will not even consider writing business in the state. The minimum premium for this specialized program is $350,000 - no exceptions.  AccountFirst, Inc., also writes other codes in New York, including transportation, staffing, restaurants, hospitality, service industries, etc. The minimum premiums vary. California's workers compensation market has long been seen as "difficult" for "blue collar" companies. Their only coverage option has been the State Fund, (SCIF). The SCIF operates on a 4 tier system, the worst of which are tiers 3 & 4. High experience modifiers caused by troubled loss histories, frequency and severity of claims, and high hazard codes are the primary reasons companies do find themselves in tiers 3 & 4 of the SCIF.  On a number of occasions we have spoken with brokers, many frustrated with how their client's claims were handled.  A lack of investigation and communication -  A take it or leave it mentality.  Now there is an alternative to the SCIF available through AccountFirst, Inc.!
