Stewardship 2019

What is enough?

Too often we humans are dissatisfied with what we have and think there must be something more or better out there. Cultural messages in advertising and from the mouths of our friends and neighbors fuel our dissatisfaction, encouraging us to believe that "enough" is just out of reach, and that we need to keep striving for it.  Not thinking we have enough affects how much we feel we can give to others and how generous we can be.

The Slash Christian Church 2019 Stewardship Campaign, "More Than Enough" invites you to be blessed as you bless others. As a community of faith, we will ask how we should invest our gifts and talents on behalf of God's kingdom. The Good News is that when we go ahead and invest generously and with a loving heart, we will discover that God provides more than enough-more than enough to meet all our personal and family needs, needs in the local community, and the needs of Slash Christian Church.

Have you ever experienced more than enough?  Did God surprise you providing for a need you had right after you made that special gift? It has happened to all of us but we forget because the world tells us we do not have enough.

God can bless us with more than enough to do all kinds of good things for others. May you be blessed to bless others through our gracious, generous God who provides more than enough.

Our Stewardship Campaign begins  October 20th here at Slash. Let's all give generously for our 2020 Ministry Plan.

En Agape',
Michael

Homecoming Celebration

September 15th, 2019 was a glorious day as we celebrated 290 years since the erection of our building and the 177th of Disciples meeting at Slash. We are continuing the celebration through mid-October in worship.

We want to thank everyone who helped prepare the grounds and buildings, all the cooks and volunteers, the organizing committee and special guest speakers. Above all we want to thank each of you who participated in the day.

You can relive some of those moments in our worship by subscribing to the Slash Christian Church YouTube Channel or follow the link below to our website and watch video and see a few photographs.

Reconciliation Special Offering

The Special Offering is used to fund our Church's mission imperative to become a pro-reconciling and anti-racist church utilizing  experiential education, inclusive worship and intentional dialogue. Our efforts to promote healing, relationship and restoration in the whole family of God are enlivened by funds from this offering. Through it we are able to provide programs for leadership development, curriculum for dialogue and learning, and partnerships within the Church and our communities.
Recent events have reignited the conversation about human brokenness evidenced in the sin of racism and perpetuated in our institutional structures and systems. Your generous giving to Reconciliation Ministry is transforming lives and strengthening Christ's witness in the world showing that we love one another, even as Christ continues to love us!

Slash Youth News
Everyone 6th grade through 12th grade is invited to join us for youth group. Our student leaders are planning a wonderful year of mission, study, and fun.
