New DCF Online Application Process for Child Care Providers
The Department of Children and Families, Office of Child Care Regulation is working towards implementing an online application process for providers to use when applying for a new license, or renewing a current license, to operate a child care facility or home. The first step in the process, that began July 2019, is for the Department to send providers their renewal notification letters electronically via the email address that is in your licensing file.
The Department sends the licensure renewal notification at least 90 days prior to your license expiration date. In order to ensure providers are receiving this notification in a timely manner, providers are asked to confirm their email address with licensing counselors, check their SPAM or junk mail if they are inside that 90 day window and have not received the notification, and be mindful that their completed renewal application packet is due 45 days prior to their license expiration date.
If providers have any questions about this new process, please contact their local regional licensing office for guidance. Their assistance will ensure a completed application for a license to operate a child care facility, family day care home, or large family child care home for renewal of an annual license is submitted at least 45 days prior to the expiration date of the current license to avoid a licensing violation.
