Do you have ideas on how to make the state a better place for getting around? If so, then join us in welcoming the newly appointed Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Transportation, Shoshana Lew, to Senate District 19 on Wednesday, July 17 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm at Arvada City Hall, 8101 Ralston Road, Arvada, 80002.
Please note the date change! The meeting will be Wednesday, July 17 instead of the day originally advertised.
This special town hall will feature CDOT Director Shoshana Lew who will be available to hear your thoughts and ideas on the state's transportation needs. CDOT recently launched a statewide listening tour that gives Coloradans the chance to sound off on how the state should spend limited transportation dollars.
The "Your Transportation Plan" will identify a 10-year strategic pipeline of projects, inclusive of all modes, informed both by a data-driven needs assessment and public and stakeholder input. Click HERE to learn more.
Interim committee updates and site visits scheduled
The Legislative Interim Committee on School Finance had its first meeting on June 25, where we jumped into the business of figuring out how to fix our School Finance formula. Here is a great article by Chalkbeat that summarized the meeting. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 19.
The JBC met in June as well and put together our travel schedule for site visits during the interim. Our first excursion will be to the San Luis Valley August 14-15. The agenda includes visiting Adams State University, the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad, and also a courthouse.
