This Week's Service:
Flower Communion

A time-honored UU tradition in which flowers are shared among us, in recognition of our human unity and diversity. This year's Flower Communion service will be on May 3rd. All are welcome to bring a flower (or several) to share.

This Week's Drop-In Discussion: Free and Fair Trade.

Congress is now considering the Trans Pacific Partnership agreement involving the USA and 11 other Pacific nations.  Critics say its purpose is to enact the corporate agenda into international law.  Phil Ebersole will make a presentation on the TPP.

Thank you, thank you!

The 2015 Stewardship Campaign has been successful, and most First Universalist members and friends have made a pledge to support the 2015-16 budget.  We only need a few more to reach or surpass last year's total!

Thanks to co-chairs Glenda Brayman and Howard Spindler as well as Bill Jones and the finance team for working on the campaign. And many thanks to all who brought pies to share on Stewardship Sunday!

If you forgot to make your pledge, or have recently made the decision to do so, it's never too late!  Please contact Bill Jones at [email protected] to make your pledge via e-mail, or request a pledge card.

Healthy Sisters' Soup Sunday

Soup Sunday is this Sunday, May 3. Healthy Sisters' Soup and Bean Works will be providing soups for Coffee Hour on May 3rd. Members and friends will be able to purchase soups after tasting several of their offerings. The revenue from products goes directly back in to the program, making every purchase vital to its success.

The program objectives are two-fold: To provide a successful work experience that will result in employment, moving women from dependence to independence; and to generate revenue from sales in support of program operations, ultimately helping more women. Each year, Healthy Sisters' Soup & Bean Works helps approximately 25 women receive job training, earn a stipend, and develop self-confidence in order to enter or re-enter the workforce.

Remembering Lauretta

Friends of Lauretta Young are invited to gather in the adult lounge on Wednesday May 13 from 6:30 to 8pm to share stories, thoughts and memories about her.  You are welcome to bring snacks and beverages to enjoy.  Brief readings will be presented to open and close our time together.
