The 2015 Stewardship Campaign has been successful, and most First Universalist members and friends have made a pledge to support the 2015-16 budget.  We only need a few more to reach or surpass last year's total!

Thanks to co-chairs Glenda Brayman and Howard Spindler as well as Bill Jones and the finance team for working on the campaign. And many thanks to all who brought pies to share on Stewardship Sunday!

Remembering Lauretta

Friends of Lauretta Young are invited to gather in the adult lounge on Wednesday May 13 from 6:30 to 8pm to share stories, thoughts and memories about her.  You are welcome to bring snacks and beverages to enjoy.  Brief readings will be presented to open and close our time together.

MAY 2: RAIHN CAR CITY 2015 - Help Put the Brakes on Homelessness: A car is no substitute for a home.  Car City is a fundraiser as well as a way to shed light on homelessness in Rochester.  Families, youth groups and other teams are invited sleep in their cars at Asbury Methodist on Saturday, May 2^nd.  There will be evening activities, including live music and a sundae bar.  Local Author Sonja Livingston will share excerpts from her book Ghostbread and reflect on growing up in poverty in Rochester.  If you don't want to sleep in your car but want to support RAIHN Car City, join Team VirtUUal.  Here's how - Go to RAIHN.org, click on the SIGN UP/DONATE NOW box, enter Team VirtUUal in the SEARCH box, and you're on your way to helping our UU team reach its goal.  Your support will directly assist homeless families as they work to achieve sustainable independence.  Thank you!

MAY 4: ADVOCACY DAY: Monday, May 4, from 10am to 3:30pm, Interfaith Impact of New York State sponsors an Advocacy Day in Albany for legislative visits. Specific issues the IINYS Board has chosen to emphasize are: the Women's Reproductive Security Act, Trans Gender Civil Rights (GENDA), Humane Alternatives to Long Term Solitary Confinement (HALT Solitary Act).
