This Week's Service:
Theodicy: The Problem of Evil

Evil is a source of no small distress among religious liberals.  Where does the "bad stuff" come from and why can't (don't) we do more to combat it? Rev. Martha Munson.

This Week's Drop-In Discussion: How Big Box Stores Impact the Community. They offer cheap prices, all-in-one shopping and consistency from store to store, but what are the costs of having big box stores in your community?  How do they impact local taxes, governments, politics, services, education, employment, traffic, and community organizations?  What happens when a big box displaces a local business?  Can this trend be stopped? Facilitated by Dwight Montague.

Auction News

Hurrah, hurrah!!  Hats off to all: our 2014 Service Auction was a wonderful success.  Together, bidders, donors, and volunteers raised over $6,900 to support our church's mission!  Many, many people helped, in large ways and small.

Thanks to all, and especially our leaders:  planners Paula Marchese and Lauretta Young; tellers and clerks Dave VanArsdale, Elizabeth Osta, and Bill Jones;  lunch coordinator Tim Mullins;  and proxy queens Jerianne Barnes and Karen Ruganis.  And of course to all of you who volunteered, donated an item,  and/or made a bid... thank you for being a part of this treasured event!

We had some unsold items- the list is posted on our website and on the bulletin board.

RAIHN needs you! We still need volunteers for our upcoming RAIHN Week, February 23-March 2, when we will welcome temporarily homeless families to stay in our church for the week. If you haven't attended training, you can still volunteer for set up, clean up, or to launder bedding.

If you're unsure what a specific task involves, you can ask to shadow a seasoned volunteer. To volunteer or if you have questions, contact Chris DeGolyer ([email protected] or 461-3616) or talk to Marti Eggers after church on Sunday.
