Quarterly News & Updates from Kansas SHRM
Hello Kansas SHRM!

I hope you are enjoying your summer and have had the opportunity to take some time for yourself!

In April, we hosted our second annual Student Summit event. Thanks to the Western KS Human Resource Management Association, the Fort Hays State University Student SHRM Chapter, all of our volunteers and all of the participating students for making this event such a success! We had 13 teams of students compete in a Jeopardy style HR knowledge game and about 40 attendees for the rest of the Summit presentations. Congratulations, again, to Emporia State University for earning 1st place in the HR Games and to K-State for finishing 2nd! We are thrilled to partner with our Chapters across the state to engage with our next generation of emerging HR professionals and look forward to 2020's event at K-State!

As we look ahead to the fall, it's hard to believe we are halfway through the year, starting to plan 2020 events, and just a few months away from kicking off our conference! This year, we will come together September 11-13 in Overland Park for our 30th Annual KSSHRM Conference! Our conference committee, led by Tami Seaman, SHRM-SCP, SPHR and Craig Poe, SPHR, has been working hard to plan a fantastic conference featuring excellent speakers, partners and networking opportunities. If you have not already registered, please do that as soon as possible by visiting http://2019.ksshrm.org/.

Finally, if you are not already a member of a local Chapter, we have 12 amazing Chapters in Kansas that are doing some remarkable things! I encourage you to check them out on our website at http://ksshrm.org/affiliate-chapters/ or at our Membership Booth in the Marketplace at our conference. Being a part of the local Chapter is so beneficial both personally and professionally, so please check one out today!

I hope to see you all in Overland Park in September!
