NEXT SERVICE: Sunday, September 21: Freight and Freedom.We are approaching the period known as the "Days of Awe" in the Jewish tradition. We will explore the insights of this holy time: a time of both heaviness and lightness of spirit. Rev. Celie Katovitch.
NEXT DROP-IN DISCUSSION: Sunday, September 21: An Addictive World. Paul Graham wrote a provocative article
http://www.paulgraham.com/addiction.html in which he argued that all of the things we describe as addictive are accelerating and we should not want to stop the process. Bill Elwell will lead a discussion of our own addictions and of how we are living and have always lived in an addictive world.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION: Kids ages four and older join us every week in the sanctuary for the first portion of our worship service. Children's Worship begins after the Message for All Ages. Nursery care for babies and younger children is on the second floor provided throughout the service. We also have seating in our second floor foyer, where parents can hold their little ones and listen to the service via speaker.
ARE YOU NEW TO FIRST UNIVERSALIST? Have you come a few times and want to find out more about Unitarian Universalism and our congregation? Then stop by the Welcome Table in the Clara Barton Lounge during coffee hour. You'll find friendly folks there every Sunday who are eager to talk with you!
FOOD INGATHERING: TODAY Sunday, September 14. Donations of non-perishable food items will be collected to benefit The Community Food Cupboard on Nester Street.
POTLUCK AND ENTERTAINMENT: Friday, September 19, 5:30 pm. Potluck supper in the Clara Barton Lounge followed by a performance of Canada's Circus Orange at the Fringe Fest in Martin Luther King, Jr. Park. This is a family friendly event.

BOOK GROUP: Sunday September 28th, 12:15, in the Adult Lounge. This month's selection is "Year of Wonder" by Geraldine Brooks, a book which gives us a glimpse into the strangeness of history that simultaneously enables us to see a reflection of ourselves.
