A Message from the Staff Parish Relations Committee
SPRC memo to the Chatham UMC
June 30, 2019
Dear Friends,
It is our joy to welcome two new members of our Chatham UMC staff: Mike Maguire, organist and Alyssa Keifer, Simpson Seminarian 2019-2020. We are grateful for the ways our staff serve in the ministry of welcome and hospitality, as well as in the ministry of teaching and sharing the love of God through their various expressions of responsibilities. We are also grateful that our church here in Chatham sees ourselves as a teaching church. We believe that God is leading us to nurture the next generation of church leaders, pastors, musicians and disciples. We also believe that the next generation has much to teach us about faithfulness.
At the request and leadership of the Staff Parish Relations Committee, all requests for Mike Maguire to be involved in various aspects of life and ministry at the Chatham UMC will be directed through Peter Hill, to whom Mike is immediately accountable. All requests for Alyssa Keifer to be involved in the various aspects of life and ministry at the Chatham UMC will be directed through Rev. Sharon Yarger, who is serving as her Supervised Ministry Supervisor.
Mike will begin playing organ and piano on a weekly basis beginning in September. Alyssa will be preaching on August 4, 2019 at the 10am worship service in Rodda Hall. We hope you will take the time to keep them in prayer, and welcome them when you see them here at Chatham UMC.

CUMC Ministry Needs & Links

Summer months are a critical time for food donations to pantries because fewer donations come in. It is the time when children are off from school for summer vacation and do not have their regular meal at school. For many of the children the meal they would receive at school is the only secure daily meal that they have. Therefore, in summer the need for food increases.
Following are some suggestions to donate: peanut butter, jelly, canned soups, canned fruits, pasta, pasta sauce, canned spaghetti, rice, canned vegetables, mac and cheese, canned meat, tuna, chicken, meatballs, pancake mix, syrup, snacks, cold cereal, beef stew, Chef Boyardee, chilli, shelf stable milk (boxed, canned, powdered).
Donations may be left in stairwell.
Thank you on behalf of CUMAC and the people they serve.
CUMAC is no longer accepting empty coffee cans.
