Celebrating National Health IT Week
The week of September 23-27 has been designated U.S. National Health IT Week, celebrating the power of information and technology to reform our health system.

What does National Health IT Week mean to you? At GaHIN, it is a reminder of our mission: to create a healthier Georgia through the use and exchange of electronic health information. GaHIN facilitates the use and secure exchange of patient health information so providers have the information they need at the point of care, resulting in improved quality of care, better health outcomes and reductions in cost.

Founded by HIMSS and the Institute for e-Policy in 2006, the weeklong celebration comprises partner-driven activities and events led by the efforts of national health stakeholders. Top issues include:
  • Advancing Public and Population Health
  • Modernizing the Public Health Infrastructure
  • Accelerating Workforce Development
  • Expanding Access to Broadband and Telehealth
  • Addressing Social Determinants of Health

GaHIN is a non-profit partner of Health IT Week – you can see the full list of partners here.

GaHIN Attends Health Catalyst Conference
A few of GaHIN’s team members recently attended the 2019 Healthcare Analytics Summit hosted by Health Catalyst, which provides GaHIN’s GeorgiaDirect service. This year’s focus was on “powering digital transformation in healthcare.”

The keynote speakers were engaging, and there were numerous informative breakout sessions and networking opportunities. One of the newest Summit features this year was “Braindate,” an innovative peer-to-peer learning tool which allowed attendees to connect with other attendees with similar interests. With 1,400 industry leaders and professionals in attendance this year, GaHIN’s team was able to learn, network and be inspired.
