Principal's Message
January 27, 2017
Dear Families and Friends of OLQP,
During Catholic Schools Week, Catholic schools and those who support them will celebrate across this country. People who have not experienced what it means to be part of this faith community wonder about what makes us different. What convinces families to make the financial sacrifice and time commitment that is required? Some reasons people choose OLQP are:
  • The Catholic philosophy of education is one of partnership with parents recognizing parents as their children's primary educators.
  • The school's commitment to authentically share the Catholic faith in prayer, sacrament, and service.
  • At OLQP, students are encouraged to be their personal best through daily classes, athletics, and enrichment programs.
  • The dedication of teachers to work with students to help them grow in faith and knowledge while respecting where they are as individuals on the continuum of learning and life.
  • The structure and high standards that help children reach their personal best.
  • The many opportunities provided to allow students to develop leadership skills.
  • The community that is built through working together and praying together for a common good.
  • The strong sense of family and belonging.
At morning prayer this week, students were reminded that each of them is a "unique and unrepeatable gift of God." At our school, we value each student as part of this family. Working together, OLQP and families can achieve great things for our students, the community, and beyond. Thank you for choosing OLQP and being part of this mission and ministry.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam,
Mrs. Marianne Mechura, M.Ed.
Principal

Did You Know?
Is That a Siren I Heard?
On Wed., Jan. 25, Principal Mechura was getting ready to go into car line for morning drop off. As she put the "panic button" on her key lanyard, she noticed a red light. "Hmmmmm....what does that mean? Maybe the battery is low..." You may have noticed Richwood Police in the parking lot. The response time was almost immediate. It seems that the panic button is very sensitive.
OLQP works closely with Richwood Police Department. There are three panic buttons on campus. The officers know the campus, visit, work with students teaching the RAP program, and are available to consult on concerns that arise. During Catholic Schools Week, the OLQP community will be showing appreciation to our local law enforcement by bringing thank you notes, St. Michael's medals, cookies made by NJHS and STUCO students, and prayers. We appreciate our partnership with Richwood PD!

Mardi Gras Gala
In the recent past, the school has had a spring event to bring families and supporters together for a good cause. This year, the concept is changing to a winter event - The Mardi Gras Gala. This dinner, dance, auction is an adult event that promises good food, good music, and good company. Please join us. For more information, contact Kim Wilson
