Ingham Impact Podcast
The MOVE Program is based on the MOVE International model and is a proven practice in which individuals with multiple disabilities can learn to: SIT to eat, participate in activities, study and even work; STAND for activities such as washing at a sink and food prep; WALK to participate in play or complete tasks; and TRANSITION from bed to chair, sitting to standing, etc. Children and adults with multiple disabilities who had little hope now have opportunities for inclusion. Thanks to our staff at Heartwood School! #inghamimpact
Strategic Planning Update
Ingham ISD started our Strategic Planning process this fall regarding what we should keep doing, start doing and stop doing as an organization to support our stakeholders. Ingham ISD held focus groups and distributed surveys to staff. Our Strategic Plan is posted on our website to share our progress to date. We will update our website as we continue on this journey. A huge shout-out to our Steering Committee for their extra time and dedication to help us chart our course for the next three to five years!
Taking the Plunge for Special Olympics
Each year, a team of staff from Ingham ISD participates in the Polar Plunge to raise funds for Michigan Special Olympics. You can join the team and plunge yourself, help raise funds, or simply donate. It will likely be bitter cold outside when these brave souls take the plunge on February 12, 2017 at Cooley Law School Stadium. If you can't plunge like champ, you could eat like one. Stop into any Michigan location Buffalo Wild Wings on February 8. Ten percent of all net sales will go to support Special Olympics. All donations stay in Michigan.
