How would you improve Rice Street in the heart of Lihue?
The Kauai Board of REALTORS®, in conjunction with the National Association of REALTORS®, is sponsoring a community survey on the revitalization of Rice Street. What obstacles do you see in making it better? If you could make one change to Rice Street, what would you suggest? How can we create a place where everyone wants to be?
Your ideas and opinions will help us develop new projects and improvements for the downtown area. Along with the new branding campaign and street improvements planned, we hope to help Rice Street property owners, businesses and shoppers work together for revitalization of Lihue's historic center.

The new Rice Street Brand was
revealed January 26 to the business owners and stakeholders on Rice Street. The brand has been launched by the Planning Department with the recently awarded Federal Transportation"Tiger" and NAR "Smartgrowth" Grants.

The Planning Department received several hundred comments over the course of the public review period, which informed the development of the Departmental Draft.
The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing regarding the Departmental Draft of the General Plan Update.
