A Message from the Dean...
If the Super Bowl is the Ultimate Game . . .
". . . Those who are unspiritual do not receive the gifts of God's
Spirit, for they are foolishness to them" - I Corinthians 2:14

Compare two very successful-some would say they are the only successful-coaches of the Dallas Cowboys. Which was the most successful?
Jimmy Johnson, when coaching on the college level, had a wife and the appearance of a marriage because it was expected of college football coaches. The wife and family was needed for social occasions. The day he was named head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, he set about to rid himself of this no-longer-necessary-baggage. He threw her away like yesterday's newspaper. He didn't need her anymore, and he lost no time in dumping her. He confessed that he never bought his boys birthday or Christmas presents. He just didn't have the time, and they weren't a priority. So he single-mindedly threw himself into his football team, and in January 1993, he made it to the top, #1, they won the Super Bowl.
Then there's Tom Landry. Someone once asked Coach Landry how he had been so successful as a football coach. He said, "In 1958, I did  something everyone who has been successful must do, I determined my priorities for my life: God, family, and then football."
My favorite Super Bowl quote comes from a Dallas Cowboys running back-Duane Thomas. He was asked just before the 1971 game how it felt for him to play in the Super Bowl, the ultimate game. Thomas replied with a question: "If it's the ultimate game, how come they're playing it again next year?"
What are your priorities?
