To health care facilities and medical gas installation teams

A notification has been circulated from MW Biomedical Inspection Services Ltd. regarding new installer certification criteria that installers working with medical gas will need to meet by September 30, 2017.

In Alberta, industry is currently working with the 2009 version of the medical gas code as the 2012 code has not yet been adopted. This notification is in response to the health authorities request for installer training that is called for in the 2012 code.

MCA is currently seeking clarification on the September 30 deadline and is working with our training partners to determine the best way to service the needs of our members who will need to upgrade or re-certify.
