Updates from Mission Valley ROP's
Fire Tech and EMR Class

Thank you for your continued support as an advisory member for Mission Valley ROP's Fire Tech and EMR class. Sal Jacquez and Bernadette Eichensehr wants to stay connected with you and looks forward to upcoming collaborations
i n the near future.
Toy Drive

Students in Fire Tech and EMR have been busy collecting toys for their annual toy drive. On Saturday, December 9th they had an event held at Mission Valley ROP's Center, where community members were encouraged to donate a toy and take a free photo with Santa. Everyone enjoyed some hot chocolate and freshly baked cookies from our culinary classes. Toys will be collected until December 19th and can be dropped off at our ROP Center Lobby at 5019 Stevenson Blvd. Fremont. Toys will be distributed to local needy children through LOV - League of Volunteers.

Gomes Elementary School

Elementary students at Gomes Elementary School had the opportunity to meet Fire Tech students and see the MVROP Fire Truck up close and personal. The Fire Tech students demonstrated how they get geared up in full Fire Fighter attire and the elementary students had the opportunity to ask any questions. The children were most excited about the  fire helmets and badges they received.

Special Events

Fire Tech and EMR students represented their classes again this year at the 3rd Annual Glenmoor Gardens Oktoberfest and C hili Cook-Off at Meyer Park in Fremont. In addition, the students participated in the Glenmoor Tree Lighting Event, which drew a large crowd including plenty of children, who had extra fun playing in real snow!

Training

Fire Tech students have been involved with some rigorous training visiting the Fremont Fire Training Tower twice a month and engaging in obstacle courses and search and rescue drills. The students have been working hard and learning the challenges of combining mental strength and physical endurance.

Get involved by hosting a field trip or come in the classroom and be a guest speaker.
