USDA National Farm to School Program Director Learns from Vermont

"The cafeteria is one of the most neglected classrooms in the school. I love the analogy that we don't think twice about getting every child a book, and we don't think twice about making sure every kid has a seat on the school bus if they need it, so why are we splitting hairs about who eats what? We should all just be eating." - Deborah Kane
Food at the Center of Farm to School Learning

If teachers are learning about Farm to School curriculum connections, why not have them prepare their own snacks and meals that meet USDA nutritional guidelines? That is exactly what we did with a group of teachers from Chittenden South Supervisory Union.
