May is filled with so many wonderful things:  The   Spring Luncheon and Annual Meeting, beautiful spring flowers, sunny blue skies, dogs barking, kids playing outdoors, the music of the lawn mowers, picnics, roller blading, the fishing opener, outdoor tennis, jogging, the roar of motorcycles, driveway basketball, weekend trips to the cabin, and Mother's Day.  What's not to like?  I could celebrate May all year long!

PresidentPresident's Note
Linda Debner
I am writing this note and it is very bittersweet! It is my last newsletter to all of you as the President of the MASWA Board of Directors.

First of all,  it has been an honor to serve all of you as your President.  I always feel bad when someone passes on the chance to be a board member, because this board is not like any others.  We always have a great time while accomplishing good work!  No matter who is on the board, there is always collegiality. It is a respectful environment to share ideas.  I always leave a board meeting feeling good about everyone doing their jobs.  I also feel that no one person is overworked and that's one of the things that makes this board so much fun.  Everyone is more than willing to help each other out.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of our out-going board members:
Anne Tabat, Jane Hagstrom, Deb Nelson, Paul Blom, Georgene Connelly, Jarrod Peterson, Kathleen Carlson, Sue Stenberg, Judy Decker, Elle Fox, Joel Kraft, and Karen Mandile.  You have all been amazing to work with, and a pleasure to get to know.  I look forward to seeing all of you at our MASWA membership meetings!

I am looking forward to the Spring Luncheon and Annual Meeting in a couple of days. We will be presenting our charity donations and meeting the new board of directors, as well as having a great presentation.  Please join us!
