As the State begins the 2017 Legislative Session 

the Kaua'i County Co uncil will conduct it's first meeting of the new year this Wednesday, January12.

Up for second reading is:  
Bill No. 2634  A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 8, KAUA'I COUNTY CODE 1987, AS AMENDED, TO ALLOW MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING UNITS IN ALL RESIDENTIAL ZONING DISTRICTS  
The Council "Planning Committee" has recommended approval.


Proposed Bill on ADU's ( Additional Rental Unit) has been deferred back to Planning until April 5, 2017 to allow for further research and input.

 Public Hearing on:  
Bill No. 2644 - A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING CONDITION IN ORDINANCE NO. PM-94-82 RELATING TO ZONING DESIGNATION IN HANAMA'ULU, KAUA'I (Amfac Property Development Corp.) (ZA-2017-1)
Allows for 16 Duplexes for a total of 32 units to be constructed by Developer as Affordable Housing. (See MAHALO! below)

    Final Draft of the General Plan with intention to submit     to the  Planning Commission by the end of January.

>The Planning Department is currently working to revise      a Proposed Bill to allow Additional Rental Units island        wide as a means to provide more rental housing for            Kaua'i residents.
