*Breakfast and Registration Begins at 8:30am with program starting at 9:00am
How are international businesses doing in DC? What is DC's impact in the region in terms of foreign attraction and investment (FDI)? What are other jurisdictions doing to foster international business and economic growth? What lessons can we learn from local and national companies who are doing business internationally? Join us for the next Economic Intelligence Roundtable brought to you by DC's Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) in partnership with the DC Chamber of Commerce. This time, our program will focused on international business development and foreign direct investment. Like previous roundtables, this session will inform an ongoing effort led by DMPED to inform efforts aimed at monitoring growth that increases access to opportunities, supports all businesses and residents, and strengthens vulnerable communities.
Since our first Economic Intelligence Roundtable in spring 2015, we have been providing avenues of data-driven and technology-driven context for economic development policy and decision-making across several sectors. Following remarks from Deputy Mayor Brian Kenner and a short presentation on the impact of foreign investment on certain markets particularly DC's real estate sector, participants will hear from DC companies who do business globally, as well as, foreign firms looking to expand and invest in DC businesses. Representatives from business, academia, community-based organizations, and government are encouraged to participate.
There is no cost to participate in this workshop, but due to space limitations, registration is required.
