Five counties, multiple cities, two TPOs, and other organizations met on August 10, 2017 in St. Johns County to discuss key issues and opportunities along the St. Johns River to Sea Loop (SJR2C). SJR2C is a 260 mile multi-use trail that connects Brevard, Volusia, Flagler, St. Johns, and Putnam County.
It is the second priority trail for the Florida SUN Trails program, a state funding source for multi-use trails.
The meeting was organized by the Office of Greenways and Trails, a department of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Attendees heard updates from all five counties on their progress along the trail, as well as also information from the St. Johns River to Sea Loop Alliance, and brainstorming sessions on needs and concerns.
Further discussions will continue at a SJR2C Summit to be held in Volusia on October 26 – 28. Check out the
