"Up to the Arc" Pati Bruce
"Central Park" Sherry Schmidt

A two woman show featuring local artists Pati Bruce and Sherry Schmidt.

Pati Bruce was born and raised in South Texas and has always had a passion for drawing and painting and a fascination with color.  It wasn't until after her children were raised that Pati went on to pursue painting in oils and studying under different nationally acclaimed artists.   Pati likes to paint many subjects along with landscapes, cityscapes, boats and harbors.   "As an artist and Art psychotherapist, painting has led me to understand that when one engages in the process of making art, one always discovers new possibilities for growth and self awareness."   Pati is a founding member of the Pasadena Art Colony. Her work is displayed in private collections throughout the country.  She has exhibited her work in galleries, juried shows and exhibitions.

Sherry Schmidt, a native of Southern California, and has lived in South Pasadena for more than forty years.  Following graduation from Art Center College of Design, Sherry did free-lance watercolor illustration and calligraphy for two greeting card companies, as well as other free-lance projects.  She has illustrated hundreds of greeting cards and was honored with two prestigious LOUIE Awards for outstanding greeting card design.  Sherry enjoys painting our local scenery "en plein air", developing fresh and spontaneous, watercolors and gouaches.  She started a blog in 2012, posting her watercolors and writing a bit about the many local landscapes and street scenes she loves to paint.
