CLTT's Defense Export Study Poster will be Presented at the 97th Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting
The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) reports sales of arms and military services is over $1.68 trillion annually and growing. US exports alone accounted for $210 billion in 2015. These shipments can be handled by military or civilian carriers, generating millions in transportation costs for the shippers. The  CLTT has begun to examine the freight flows of US exports of military end use products to understand safer, more reliable, and cost-effective means of moving these products. The abstract of the study has been successfully accepted by TRB Military Transportation Committee, and results will be presented at the 97th Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting January 7 -11, 2018, in Washington, D.C.
