In the spirit of beginning the New Year with a look toward the future, the Religion and Society Center along with Penn State University Center for Holocaust and Jewish Studies and Penn State's Diversity and Educational Equity Committee are holding a discussion forum entitled Building Bridges Among the Faith Communities: Interfaith Dialogue and the Future (And Why Young People Should Care)   NEXT  TUESDAY, Jan. 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in Penn State Harrisburg's Russel E. Horn Sr. Spiritual Center in the newly-opened Student Enrichment Center.


Professor Anthony Buccitelli of the American Studies Department of Penn State University will moderate.

The invited panelists for this event include:

  • Christopher Khalid-Janney, Hadee Mosque, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Harrisburg
  •  Rabbi Elisha Friedman, Kesher Israel Congregation, Harrisburg
  • Rabbi Carl Choper, The Religion and Society Center, Harrisburg
  • Semontee Mitra, Lecturer and PhD candidate in American Studies at Penn State Harrisburg
  •  Rev. Tabitha Ssonko, Monumental AME Church, Steelton

 This discussion is free and open to the public without RSVP; we are hoping to engage people from all faith traditions and spiritual backgrounds. A poster for this event is attached below.  Please note: If you are planning to attend, you will find a general parking lot directly adjacent to the Student Enrichment Center. Attendees from off campus may park in any legal space without paying the parking fee. If you have a valid disabled parking permit, there are also spaces for disabled individuals in this lot.
