A recent report by Global Market Insights estimates the personal protective equipment (PPE) market will reach $67.66 billion by 2023. The study cites rising employee safety and health concerns, and "a high number of industrial fatalities in unregulated regional industries,
" as driving factors.

OSHA opened its investigation May 24, in response to a complaint that employees had 
been exposed to blood and other potentially infectious bodily fluids while handling packages labeled as containing biological infectious materials. 


The agency said that from January 1, 2010, through August 31, 2016, there were 5,678 
hand injuries at the country's coalmines. 


Recommended practices promote workplace safety and health programs in construction; comments on changes in the agency's standards are now due Jan. 4.
