Owls, Falcons and Hawks Oh My!
Let me introduce you to Stillman
Nature Center, a private, non-profit center for environmental educati
on located
on 80 acres of woods, lake and prairie in South Barrin
gton.
A former estate, the land was donated for the purpose of establishing a nature c
enter. Not only does Stillm
an offer environmental
education, but it also has a wonderful Executive Director, Mark Spreyer, who is an award winning naturalist and author. Stillman Nature Center offers much more than a habitat for wildlife, they are home to several Birds of Prey who have been rehabilitated but not able to be released back into the wild. Mark, along with a handful of volunteers, will be coming to Countryside to share information about the North American owls' amazing hunting adaptations as well as
give us the oppo
rtunity to see Birds of Prey up close and personal!
Volo Bog and Moraine Hills State Park are two more incredibly beautiful and interesting places that are close by and well worth the visit to explore.
We have so many customers who share our enthusiasm and wonder for our feathered friends and big birds that it makes us happy to offer a day "All About Birds" at Countryside.
