PROJECT UPDATE

PERIODIC LANE CLOSURES WILL BEGIN TONIGHT ON I-71 NORTHBOUND
Starting tonight, the right lane to I-71 northbound will be periodically closed across the bridge forcing travelers to I-75 northbound. These closures will begin as early as 9 p.m. and will be finished by 5 a.m. These periodic, overnight lane closures on I-71 northbound will be in place through Thursday, August 3. Drivers wanting to take I-71 northbound can detour across SR 562 (Norwood Lateral) or SR 126 (Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway) once in Ohio.

As previously announced, periodic overnight southbound lane closures will also continue throughout Phase 2. Closures will occur in the right lane with each lasting no longer than one hour and will eliminate access to the 5th Street Exit in Covington (Exit 192). Travelers can detour using the 12th Street Exit (191).
PHASE 2 TRAFFIC PATTERNS ARE STILL IN PLACE - ONCE ON THE BRIDGE, VEHICLES CANNOT CHANGE LANES
Know your lane before getting on the Brent Spence Bridge. During the Phase 2 traffic pattern, through traffic can use lanes on either side of the center work zone. However, northbound travelers will need to use the right lane for I-71 north and the left lane for I-75 north. Southbound travelers will need to use the right lane to reach the Covington 5 th  Street Exit (Exit 192).
