Emergency Repair Program

MAAG, in conjunction with the Delta Human Resource Agency and the Shelby County Housing Department, are currently helping low income elderly homeowners through the Emergency Repair Program. This program, which is funded by the Tennessee Housing Development Agency, provides grants to low income, elderly homeowners who are 60 years or older to correct, repair, or replace an essential system and/or a critical structural problem. The purpose of the program is to provide essential repairs to make the home livable.  To apply or for more information contact Paul Morris
West Tennessee Rural Planning Announcements 

A public meeting of the West Tennessee Rural Planning Organization - Executive Board (WTRPO-EB) and Technical Committee (WTRPO-TC) - will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the University of Memphis-Millington Center, 6500 Navy Road, Millington, TN.  The Technical Committee will meet at 10 A.M. and the Executive Board will meet at 1 P.M.
 
The West Tennessee Rural Planning Organization (WTRPO) is responsible for comprehensive, regional, multi-modal transportation planning in Fayette, Lauderdale, and Tipton Counties.  The WTRPO is partially funded by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).  The purpose of the meeting will be to conduct elections and to expound on the goals of the RPO for FY 2017 - 2018.  For further information, or if you would like a complete agenda, please contact Mike Landrum, WTRPO Coordinator at (901) 729-2871, fax (901) 729 4107, or e-mail mlandrum@maagov.org .

Grant  Announcements
Memphis Area Association of Governments announces the Rural Tourism Marketing 
Co-op Grant

 Memphis Area Association  of Governments awarded Fayette County and Alex Haley Museum a $2,000 grant through its Rural Tourism Marketing Co-Op Grant. This grant provides tourism attractions, events and festivals the opportunity to expand the impact of their marketing message, increase visitation and increase travel-generated revenue. The co-op funding is provided by a partnership between MAAG and the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development's Developmental Co-op.
