Zika and Pregnancy:
Understanding the US Zika Pregnancy Registry

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention's US Zika Pregnancy Registry collects information about pregnancy and infant outcomes among pregnant women with laboratory evidence of Zika virus infection. It is an important step in helping monitor the long term health outcomes of the Zika virus and can also serve as an avenue to resources for families impacted by Zika.
Participants will receive information on the topics below:
- An overview of the Zika virus and pregnancy, including physical symptoms and long-term complications.
- Details on the purpose of the US Zika Pregnancy Registry, including information on structure and reporting requirements.
- Guidance for Tribes and health entities to voluntarily participate in the registry, including information for Tribal health services to efficiently care for Zika patients in healthcare settings.
- Information on the assurance of confidentiality.
Who should participate?
- Tribal health officials and employees who are striving to ensure preparedness in both the clinic and community to respond to questions regarding the implementation of the US Zika Pregnancy Registry.
- Tribal Leaders and community members.
- Individuals who oversee clinical operations or monitor disease reporting and surveillance.
- Family planning or OB/GYN service providers.
- Health education, promotion, and outreach staff.
Time will be allotted for participant questions for the NIHB and CDC presenters.
