Sallie Alcorn, chief of staff to District G Council Member Greg Travis, has accepted an offer to work for Stephen Costello in his role as the city's chief resilience officer.
"It has been an honor this past year working with Council Member Travis and serving the constituents of District G," said Alcorn. "While I truly love the work, after seven and one-half years on the City Council floor, I'm ready to move on to a new challenge." Alcorn will assist Costello on numerous projects and initiatives aimed at reducing flooding in Houston.
Alcorn served as agenda director for former District Council Member Pam Holm during the last months of Holm's tenure. She then served for six years as chief of staff to former At-Large Council Member Stephen Costello.
"I'm sorry to see Sallie go as she's been a big asset to me at City Hall. She's shown me the ropes, and I'm grateful for her guidance over the past year," Travis said. "Thankfully I will get to continue working with her in her new role, and I wish her all the best." Alcorn will remain in her current role in the District G office until January 13, 2017.
