This week: "One Bead at a Time" Book Event

"One Bead at a Time" is an oral memoir of Beverly Little Thunder, a two-spirit Lakota Elder from Standing Rock, who has lived most of her life in service to Indigenous and non-Indigenous women in vast areas of both the United States and Canada. Transcribed and edited by two-spirit Métis writer Sharron Proulx-Turner, Little Thunder's narrative is told verbatim, her melodious voice and keen sense of humor almost audible overtop of the text on the page. Enjoy this book review in My LGBT POV.

Listen to this lovely and powerful interview with Grandmother Beverly and Pam Alexander on Moccasin Tracks radio last summer.

Join us for a book release and signing at the PJC with Beverly Little Thunder on Thursday, December 15, 5-7:30 at the PJC. This Book reading and signing includes Q&A with the author and light refreshments. For more information about this free event call 802-863-2345 x3.

Coming Back to Life: Revolutionary Connection TONIGHT

Winona LaDuke, American environmentalist, economist, and writer, reminds us, as do the Water Protectors at Standing Rock, that "part of the mythology that they've been teaching you is that you have no power. Power is not brute force and money; power is in your spirit. Power is in your soul. It is what your ancestors, your old people gave you. Power is in the earth; it is in your relationship to the earth."  Joanna Macy's Work that Reconnects addresses how to utilize that power.
Come to an introduction to and active exploration of Joanna Macy's work on Tuesday, December 13, 6-8:00pm at the Fletcher Free Library in Burlington. More info on facebook
