Welcome colleagues,

We've had quite the summer here at the Center for Collaborative Education , and we're capping it all off with our first Essential Personalized Learning Institute: Pathways to Excellence and Equity this
August 7 to 9  in
Dedham, MA

We're excited to present this three-day workshop to help educators bring personalized learning to their schools and districts.

At CCE, we firmly believe that personalized learning has great promise for transforming education in Massachusetts and beyond, and the Essential Personalized Learning Institute is just one step in that process. The institute is an excellent professional development opportunity for educators to explore a number of pathways to bolster personalized learning practices with an eye towards equity and change. We hope you'll be joining us.

Sincerely,

Dan French
Executive Director

QPA Summer Institute Recap
Participants collaborate on assessment design
From July 17 - 20, the Quality Performance Assessment team hosted our annual QPA Summer Institute

The four-day event at Simmons College was full of energy as educators passionate about performance assessment gathered from across the country to collaborate with each other and engage in the assessment design process.

The equity chalk talk asked educators to engage in silent conversation on equity and assessments

The institute culminated in participant presentations, where educators shared their implementation plans and assessments, and received feedback from their peers. It was a powerful opportunity to collaborate and build on the collective experiences of the group.  Participants departed for home with renewed energy and excitement , ready to challenge their schools and districts to continue this important work and rethink assessment.

Guest author Alicia Rahema-Mooltrey shares a touching letter she wrote to her 9th grade students before departing for a 12-month trip around the world. She reflects on the past school year's ups and downs before imparting some valuable advice.

If there is one thing I hope you walked away with this year, it's the fact that you matter, you are powerful and you have the ability to improve society. I hope that you recognize your greatness, that you have deep self love and confidence in yourself, that you know the only person you should compete with is you.
